The Art of Storytelling

The Art of Storytelling

“Discover how to master the art of storytelling and tell stories like Milton Erickson and Richard Bandler…”

Robin ManuellDear (hypnosis) student,

I’m delighted to be running a storytelling training in Wormerveer at the end of May (22-24 may) for Edwin Selij and the Hypnosis Institute Netherlands and I wanted to let you know so you could be there.

I’m going to be working for three days with a small group of students on the essential ingredients of telling authentic personal stories and creating transformational tales.

Storytelling, like any form of creative expression is a process, a kind of dance between the gifts your unconscious mind brings and your conscious, creative desire to shape and direct that flow.

The art of storytelling is the mastery of that dance of conscious and unconscious. The magic happens when you can get that right.

The Journey

I’d like to invite you on a journey with me. It will be challenging sometimes but it will also be exciting and I promise I will guide you safely through unfamiliar territory.

You see, there’s someone who I want you to meet. You.

If you choose to join me on this journey you will learn to see yourself with new eyes. You’ll discover how your own personal stories, the challenges and triumphs you’ve had, can have an inspirational and trans-formative effect on the people you meet.

You’ll come away from the experience with a strong sense of who you are and how you come across to other people and you’ll have a collection of stories and anecdotes that can be a bridge that connects you and the people you meet.

Most important of all knowing your own story will help you get out of the way, when you need to be truly present for those you wish to serve, and give them the space and the courage to tell their truth.

I’ve been running workshops like this for over twenty years and in that time I’ve identified the building blocks, the key areas of study you need to focus on to become a great storyteller. In each of those areas I’ve identified the 3 or 4 most important principles that produce 80% of the results and created exercises and patterns that will ensure you continue learning after the workshop is done.

Here’s a taste of what we’ll be covering.

Telling your own story. Recognizing yourself behind the role you’re playing and the mask you’re wearing. Creating safe space to take off the mask.

How to get into the flow and stay there. Creative states, flow states and high performance games.

How to mine your own personal experience for the ordinary and extra ordinary stories that express your passions, demonstrate your values and show your vision.

How to take those experiences and turn them into punchy engaging stories. The secret to pacing and leading your audience so you stay connected with them.

How to be a great listener. How to help people uncover and share their own experiences. How to recognize and anticipate the metaphors that are hidden behind their stories.

I really hope you can join me in Wormerveer at the Weverstraat 53 in the Netherlands at the 22nd – 24th of May and we can connect in person. The investment for this three day in-depth training is 799 euro and before the 1st of may it is just 599.  To be there please fill in the form below.
